On May 7, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces launched a series of precision strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) during Operation Sindoor. This retaliation action was a direct response to a tragic attack on tourists in Pahalgam, India, back on 22 April, 2025 which resulted in the loss of 26 lives. India asserted that the locations hit were key centers for orchestrating and directing cross-border terrorism, particularly associated with Terror Networks like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen(HM). During the strike, five terrorists were killed which was confirmed by the Indian government.
Terrorist killed by India’s Precision Strikes:
The Five Pakistan terrorists killed by India’s Operation Sindoor were Mudassar Khadian Khas, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Mohammad Yusuf Azhar , Khalid and Mohammad Hassan Khan.
Mudassar Khadian Khas:
Mudassar Khadian Khas, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander who controlled this wing’s main training center at Muridke, had been very much in charge of recruitment, training, and operational planning for cross-border attacks into India. The top Pakistani Army and police officials graced his funeral and bestowed military honors on his remains, which in itself was an ominous sign; a UN-designated terrorist led the funeral procession, bringing to the fore the deep nexus that exists between Pakistan’s establishment and terror outfits. The strikes also eradicated some very important terror infrastructure, including the Markaz Taiba complex, which has, in the past, been instrumental in training operatives for big-gunned operations like the 2008 Mumbai attack.
Hafiz Muhammed Jameel:
Hafiz Muhammed Jameel served as a senior commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He was the eldest brother-in-law of JeM chief, Maulana Masood Azhar, and was in charge of a facility known as Markaz Subhan Allah at Bahawalpur, Pakistan, a facility serving recruitment, training, and indoctrination for JeM. Jameel was primarily instrumental in the radicalization of young men, fundraising, and instilling missionary zeal into the recruits, whom he helped design the ideological structure; in short, he was an important operative whom JeM counted on to conduct sizable attacks against India.
Mohammad Yusuf Azhar
Mohammad Yusuf Azhar also known as alias Ustad Ji, Mohd Salim, Ghosi Sahab, is a key associate with terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He was the brother-in-law of JeM Chief Maulana Masood Azhar played a vital role in the organization’s strategies, operations and was responsible for handling weapons training for JeM. He was also involved in multiple terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and was the most suspected person in the hijacking of Airlines flight IC-814 on 24 December, 1999.
Khalid
Khalid also known as alias Abu Akasha, affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander. He was involved in multiple terrorist attacks on civilian and armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir. He was known as LeT logistic kingpin and engaged in weapons smuggling to the Kashmir Valley. His elimination indicates the direct strike on LeT backbone and hit on major cross-border terror outfits. Khalid’s funeral was held in Faisalabad, attended by senior Pakistani Army officials and the Deputy Commissioner of Faisalabad.
Mohammad Hassan Khan
Mohammad Hassan Khan affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist group. He was the Son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, operational commander of JeM in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He played a key role in coordinating terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir. He not only supplied weapons for these attacks but also carried out terrorist incidents himself.
A Guard of Honour was given to terrorists by Pakistani Armed Forces
In the images of the terrorist funeral, Masood Asghar is seen among the many Pakistani army soldiers and officers. These terrorists can also be seen giving a guard of honour (but the guard of honour is given to martyred soldiers). This presents a network and links of terror groups backed with Pakistan’s military.
For the rest, it’s a warning: the shadows aren’t safe anymore
While the elimination of key terrorists during the operation sindoor, marks a significant achievement for India’s national security. It lights out on one of their darkest operations and links for cross-border terrorism.
