The Russian military has achieved noteworthy success on the Siversk and Lyman fronts, capturing over 43 km² of territory in the past week.
On the northern flank of Siversk, Russia collapsed parts of Ukraine’s defensive line and forced Kyiv’s troops to withdraw from Serebryanka. Moscow’s forces now hold the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River, effectively concluding the battles for the Severodonetsk District. Further progress was reported around Dronivka, with Russian units consolidating in the chalk quarry and pushing from multiple directions, while offensives westward targeted Yampil, where control of the railway station and surrounding areas was established.
Russian forces advanced to the east and south of Zarichne in the Lyman direction, securing bridgeheads and expanding control of the grey zone. Ukrainian troops still retained limited ability to maneuver but faced increasing pressure as Moscow pushed its salient further in all directions. North of Zarichne, Russian forces advanced in the forests and almost completely encircled the Ukrainian garrison in Myrne.
In Novoselivka and Shandryholove, Russian units breached fortified Ukrainian positions taking advantage of FPV drone strikes and assaults through forested terrain to apply pressure to the defenders. Fighting continues to be heavy around Drobysheve where Russian spearheads continually launch coordinated attack after attack.
Moscow’s incremental advances illustrate the increasingly strained state of Ukraine’s northern defences in Donetsk.
