Intelligence inputs suggest that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is attempting to revive his terror network by using Bangladesh as a strategic base to launch operations against India. According to recent reports, a senior LeT commander, identified as Saifullah Saif, claimed in a video that militants are being trained in Bangladeshi camps under Saeed’s guidance. The group, he alleged, aims to avenge “Operation Sindoor”; a reference believed to symbolize retaliatory strikes against India.

Analysts note that this shift reflects a tactical recalibration by LeT after facing increasing pressure along the western border and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. By exploiting porous borders and local radical elements in Bangladesh, LeT appears to be opening an eastern front to diversify its operational depth. Intelligence agencies fear this could allow infiltration through the vulnerable stretches of Assam, West Bengal, and Tripura.

While Indian authorities are yet to issue an official statement, security establishments view these developments as part of a broader attempt by Pakistan-based networks to destabilize India through proxy warfare. Bangladesh, which has taken strong counterterror measures in recent years, may now face renewed challenges in containing radical influences. The emerging pattern underlines the urgent need for reinforced Indo-Bangladesh intelligence coordination to preempt transnational terror mobilization.
