The UK and India have launched a 10-year defence industrial strategic Mind map of tech collaboration to enhance defence development and strengthen security, aimed to be part of Vision 2035 for both nations focuses on collaborative, joint research and innovation through defence technologies with a focus on strengthening supply chains, and advancing weapons, jet, and naval engines. This agreement will promote economic growth, strengthen both nations’ security, and improve international peace and stability. Key strategies to deepening collaboration in advanced technologies and complex weapons through programmes like Electric Propulsion Capability Partnership (EPCP) & Jet Engine Advanced Core Technologies (JEACT). Innovation and co-development are key priorities. And focus on maritime non-traditional security threats in the Indo-Pacific region to build capability across the IOR .
India and the UK will intensify their military alliance and joint exercises across land, air, and sea, exchange military instructors, and position India as a key logistics hub for UK forces, while also conducting Research & development collab focusing on developing new capabilities in underwater systems and directed energy weapons, and strengthening innovation in defence technologies. The UK commission also collaborates to work towards enhancing cyber resilience and supporting cooperation on broader issues such as migration. Both nations’ initiative to build long-term commitment to regional stability and deepening collaboration for long-term development.
