It is reported that Russian Geran-2 loitering munitions, an improved copy of Iran’s Shahed 136, conducted a precision strike on ELENG LLC warehouse, Chornomorsk, just south of Odesa. ELENG LLC provides essential equipment and services to marine and rail networks in Ukraine, such as radionavigation systems that are vital to running ports and logistics supporting them. Further elaborations on Russia’s drone capacity suggests that Russian loitering munitions, up to and including Geran-2, have bombed cheap warheads up to 90 kg, have new improved guidance modules resistant to wideband jamming and they send telemetry of the flight via 3G/LTE modems, leading to growing vulnerability of Ukrainian targets. As the Geran-2 munitions are deployed in swarms to saturate air defences, some operations are quite successful, especially targeting infrastructure in all regions, not just Odessa.  While confirmation of immediate loss (or even subsequent damage) at the ELENG warehouse has been limited, some of the attacks of this kind and of this nature, in both Kharkiv and the Odesa regions this year have targeted warehouses, transport depots and energy infrastructure. There is a repeating trend in reported bombing campaigns for Geran-2 ans the level of precision is improving.
